Nuno undeterred as injury crisis grows at Forest –

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo is confident his side’s increasing absence list will not stop them from competing.

Callum Hudson-Odoi became the latest doubt for Forest’s upcoming FA Cup clash with Bristol City with talisman Chris Wood also suffering with injury.

Nuno provided a worrying update on the two key forwards.

He said: “He [Hudson-Odoi] is on treatment.

“He is still in a lot of pain, but he is on treatment, so let’s see. I don’t know about Wednesday. We still have one more day, so let’s wait.

“Unfortunately Chris [Wood] is not available. He is out. He is going to be out for some time. Hopefully not a long time, but let’s see.

“It is a hamstring. He felt uncomfortable so we did a scan and there is a minor injury there.

“We are frustrated but this happens. He was a doubt for Sunday’s game and he is going to be out for some time.”

January signings Giovanni Reyna, Matz Sels and Rodrigo Ribeiro are all ineligible to face the Robins due to not being registered for the original tie.

However, Nuno still believes that he has the squad to compete.

He added: “It is part of the job. We are not here to always feel sorry for ourselves. We know more than anyone we have problems, but with problems we will find solutions.

“We have to adapt and try to find solutions for the problems. For Wednesday we do not have the signings available or the two players suspended, so we are short of options.

“We will try to manage accordingly. It is part of the job. I don’t know any manager that doesn’t have issues. What is important is when the problems come, to find solutions.”
