Media personality, Nana Yaa Brefo has revealed the negative effects of her issue with actress cum media personality, Nana Ama McBrown.
The media personality claims after her issue with the actress, she decided not to completely quit journalism but to pause a little.
Speaking in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on TV3, Nana Yaa Brefo said that she was attacked personally following her misunderstanding with Nana Ama McBrown.
According to her, she has no problem when someone verbally attacks her but she becomes scared when she is physically attacked.
“I think after McBrown’s issue, I wanted to relax a bit. I wanted to be in the background and not completely stop. Because somebody can hit you personally. It’s not about the job. If it’s about the job, I don’t mind. But if it becomes personal, you have kids, you have family”, she said.
She shockingly disclosed that it even got to a time when the life of her son was in danger because she had calls from unknown people who threatened to hurt her son either on his way to school, in school, or back from school.
“They attack you, sometimes they want to hurt your family. I’ve had somebody call me and warn me to be careful about my son when he goes to school because some people are planning something against him. Another time, a different person called me and told me”, she said.
Adding that ‘Well, I’ve been asked to do this to you, but I’m telling you because I don’t want to do it’. It’s scary, she recounted”.
If you would recall, there was a brouhaha between Kumawood actress Nana Ama McBrown and media personality Nana Yaa Brefo after Kumawood actor, Bishop Benard Nyarko died.
It all started when Nana Yaa Brefo in an interview with the actress asked some questions that the actress considered disrespectful.
Narrating the story, Nana Yaa Brefo said “So we had this program, it was a segment under the morning show…People didn’t understand the concept of the program. It was like rekindling the fire in someone. It was to give people the chance to ask all the daring questions they couldn’t ask. And it wasn’t to provoke people…At the time, there were rumors about the late Bishop Benard Nyarko. Some of the industry people came in to support him, and it was during this conversation that Nana Ama McBrown’s name came up. The late actor’s brother was insisting that there was nothing like that. That there was no help from McBrown”.
She added “So McBrown called on the show to explain that she tried to help. So it was like, you claim to have helped him and his family says otherwise. So if you did that, what is your evidence? So let’s know the person’s number and she took offence. So she was like, Why are you asking me such a question? It’s an unprofessional question. Without actually thinking and analyzing why…And the outside world also took it like you are attacking their queen, their goddess.”
This, according to Nana Yaa Brefo made her to resign from Adom TV.
