Ghanaian musician and ex-convict, Showboy, has found himself in another trouble just months after he was released from US prison and deported back to Ghana.
Showboy, in a video that we gathered, could be seen speaking aggressively alongside a friend to a policeman, who in the video remained calm and only interested in carrying out his duty.
In the video, Showboy alleged that the policeman was trying to extort money from him and that is something he will never stand for, irrespective of whatever crime he committed.
The 2hype gang boss fussed the policeman very well, to the extent of labelling him “a bitch ass nigga,” even when the policeman seems to have been ready to climb his motorcycle to walk away from the scene.
His action seems to have escalated quickly, as a document discovered later proved that he was arrested and charged with making an appearance in court.
According to the arrest document, Showboy was driving without a driver’s license as well as careless driving and that may also be another proof that the reason for his argument with the police officer began when he was questioned about his license.
Showboy, however, seems unbothered about the situation, as he went on to release another video in which he advised the youths to avoid giving money to policemen on the road.
In the video, Showboy argued that the policemen are being paid by the government with tax payer’s money to protect the public and not to extort money from them.
Reactions to the video show many agree with his advice of not giving money to the police but question his attitude towards the officer.
Below are some of the reactions
“He’s right. The government pays them to watch over us. He should give the money to the government rather than pay bribes. If everyone is this bold, the police extorting money will stop. Elsewhere, the police come with dignity, but in Ghana, most of them have thrown dignity into the mud”
“He’s enjoyed the American Prison, he’s yet to See the African version of Prison… Wish him all the best.”
“My GM said don’t let any policeman on the road take you to court. This could have been avoided”
“American prison couldn’t teach him a lesson so he is calling for Ghana prison gradually gradually. that will give him the real lesson he deserves.”
“He did the right thing by going to court. The insults wey he no try. That one alone is 20k if I was the judge.”
