Popular writer for the outgoing NPP government, P.K Sarpong, has written a letter to Prophet Kofi Oduro. He says the Prophet will remember Akufo-Addo someday and regret insulting him.
P.K Sarpong wrote this letter and shared it on his Facebook page on 29th December 2024. He wrote;
“A Letter to Prophet Kofi Oduro.
Dear Prophet Kofi Oduro!
You live in one world, the word of God you preach to his people dwells in another world. You and the God you claim to be serving and worshipping are completely poles apart.
You have been subjecting President Akufo-Addo to the most inhumane treatment one could think of. You have been verbally abusing this man all these years without any justification.Â
Of course, as a Ghanaian, it is well within your rights to criticize the President or some of his policies when the need arises, but yours have been nothing but naked insults.The fact that we are a democratic country does not mean that you can insult Akufo-Addo at will. That’s not godly and that’s not what God expects from you as His servant, if truly you are His servant.
The Bible is very vocal about according our elders and those in authority respect. Romans 13:1 states, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God”.Â
Prophet, God instituted Akufo-Addo as our President and for that matter, we should accord him with respect, according to the Bible. Maybe, just maybe, you’re suffering from selective amnesia for which reason you don’t take the quoted Bible verse into consideration.Â
Man of God, you allow your emotions to get the better part of you. You hate Akufo-Addo with venom. Your hatred for him stems from the fact that he is NPP and you are NDC.
Your brother, Julius Debrah, and the party both of you support have come to power. You should rather be thankful to God for this but not heap vitriol against the outgoing President.
What do you know about governance? Have you read a little bit about AfCFTA? If Akufo-Addo has announced that all Africans coming into the country will not need visas and that irks you, tell your party and government to reverse the policy. It is that simple.
Just like President Mahama has promised to abolish E-levy, betting tax and do away with a lot of things, you can ask him to add this policy to the others. Sir, you prayed for the NDC to come to power. You said the economy has been run aground. Now you are in charge.
We hope and pray that you people will turn Ghana into a Paradise. The Paradise which seems to have been lost would return to us since Mahama is in office now.
Today, you are treating Akufo-Addo as the leaf of the plantain that became useful only during the rains. After the rainfall, it is being thrown away and discarded. Osofo, you will one day come to the realization that Akufo-Addo has been the best gift God gave to Ghana.Â
Stop making a monster of Akufo-Addo. He will be missed by you, your family members and all of us in a few years to come.”
