The 2024 general elections in Ghana saw several high-profile candidates from Jubilee House fail to secure parliamentary seats.
These individuals, who held influential positions in the government, had hoped to continue their political careers, but the voters had other plans.
One of the most notable losses was Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communication at Jubilee House.
Arhin, a key figure in the communications team of President Akufo-Addo, was well-known for his role in managing the government’s image.
Speaking after his defeat, Arhin said, “I gave my best for the party, and while I may have lost the election, my commitment to the work of this government will never change.”
Another significant loss came from Jefferson Sackey, the Deputy Director of Communication. Sackey had been an integral part of the communication strategy for the ruling government.
“I’ve always believed in the vision of this government, and I remain proud of the progress we’ve made. Losing doesn’t mean giving up on the cause,” Sackey shared after his loss.
Harriet Kyeremanteng, the Aide to the Chief of Staff, also faced defeat in her bid for a parliamentary seat. Known for her behind-the-scenes influence, Kyeremanteng was a key figure in the administration.
Reflecting on her loss, she remarked, “While I am disappointed, I am proud to have been part of a government that worked hard for the people of Ghana. I will continue to serve in other ways.”
Another loss came from Joseph Addo, who served as the chauffeur to President Akufo-Addo. Addo, who had close ties to the President, was optimistic about his chances but was ultimately unsuccessful.
“It’s been an honor serving the President, and I will continue to support the party in other ways,” Addo stated.
Lastly, Aliu Fawaz, the Deputy Chief of Staff, also faced rejection from voters. Fawaz, who had a reputation for his hard work behind the scenes, expressed,
“Losing is part of the political journey. I remain committed to the values of this government and will continue working towards our goals.”
