The Goaso Traditional Council in the Ahafo Region has officially confirmed the passing of Nana Kwasi Bosomprah II, the Omanhene of Goaso.
The news was shared during a solemn gathering at the Omanhene’s palace, where members of the Nananom (traditional council elders) gathered to mourn his loss.
In a statement, the Sumankwaahene, Nana Nketia, informed the community that Nana Bosomprah II had been ill for some time, and despite the council’s best efforts to support his recovery, he passed away on December 3, 2024, at the Sunyani Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Nana Bosomprah, 58, was a former employee of the Ghana Cocoa Board. His passing has deeply affected the community, and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been informed of the loss. As per tradition, the Omanhene of Goaso also holds the esteemed position of chief palm wine tapper for the Asantehene.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course by the Goaso Traditional Council, following the directives of the Asantehene.
