Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has refuted claims labeling President Nana Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s worst leader.
During an interview on Asempa FM, Blay described such assertions as unfair and unfounded, urging Ghanaians to adopt a balanced perspective on leadership, as reported by News Ghana.
“It is disheartening when people make such harsh judgments about Nana Akufo-Addo. Yes, he has faced challenges, but to call him the worst president is an exaggeration. His contributions to Ghana are significant,” Blay argued.
Acknowledging the economic difficulties, Blay emphasized the president’s achievements, particularly the Free Senior High School policy and key infrastructure developments, as milestones in Ghana’s progress.
He contended that these initiatives would shape a favorable legacy for Akufo-Addo.
“No administration is perfect, but we must recognize the strides made under this government. Education, infrastructure, and other key areas have seen substantial growth,” he stated.
Blay encouraged constructive criticism over blanket condemnation, calling on citizens to appreciate efforts aimed at national development while addressing challenges through dialogue.
The comments come amid debates about Akufo-Addo’s leadership, as the country grapples with economic uncertainties and a contentious political climate.
