Baba Sadiq was recently hosted on TV3 Ghana and while speaking, he revealed that Alexander Afenyo Markin was telling the electoral officers, what do do during the re-collation process.
“In his Words”
“We said to them that in the first instance, you have said that the New Patriotic Party, NPP should produce their pink sheet so that you can do the comparison, so subsequently when we go in, let’s see the pink sheet from the NPP, the MP was sitting down there saying there should carry on, they searched and searched but they couldn’t find it, and then the voice and the narration of the NPP was the same as the EC’s, almost like ‘Go ahead, they are doing their jobs, they have asked that they are going to work with their original pink sheet”.
“But we have said to them that ‘Look, we are not going to prevent you from the original pink sheet, but we have challenges with it, where your numbers have been swapped, what do you do with it because these pink sheets are your products, these are not my products, in that instance what do we do?’. Some criminal activities has happened related to the numbers, some numbers had been forged, In that regard, we can not accept this”.
“Look, almost all the officers that came in, when they looked at it, they were confused, they looked at the pink sheet, they were dumbfounded, they didn’t just know what to do, only for them to say that they are just going to carry on because the instruction is that, they should proceed with their master pink sheet. So I said ‘What do we do with the
pink sheet that you have given to us that shows that we have actually won?’. When I met Afenyo Markin, I questioned it, I said ‘What is he doing here when there is nobody here’. He went in to meet the electoral officers, he was pressurizing them and telling them what to do, he was all over the place”, Baba Sadiq said.
