Randy Abbey Resigns as Managing Director of Metro TV

According to latest report by Daily Graphic, eenowned television host Randy Abbey has officially resigned as the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group (IMG), the parent company of Metro TV.
His resignation will take effect on December 31, 2024. Abbey has also stepped down from his position as a board member of the media group.
Abbey, who is well-known for hosting the popular morning show Good Morning Ghana, is yet to announce whether he will continue as the host of the program in the coming year. Many viewers are eagerly awaiting his decision, which is expected to be made public soon.
A farewell ceremony was held in his honor at the Metro TV headquarters in Accra. The event celebrated Abbey’s contributions to the station and his impact on Ghana’s media landscape.
Aside from his media career, Abbey is a prominent figure in Ghanaian football. He serves as a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and is also the president of Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club.
Over the years, Abbey has earned several recognitions for his work. In 2006, he was awarded the Order of the Volta for his outstanding contributions to the media industry in Ghana. That same year, he also received a Grand Medal for playing a key role in Ghana’s successful qualification and participation in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
