Edward Ennin Fires Back at Critics as He Exposes Alleged Looting Under Akufo-Addo

Former NPP Member of Parliament for Obuasi East, Edward Ennin, has expressed his willingness to expose alleged misappropriation of state funds during the Akufo-Addo administration.

Speaking in an interview with UTV, Ennin stated his readiness to testify before any investigative committee, emphasizing the need to prioritize Ghana’s interests, as reported by Pulse Ghana.

He claimed that ambassadors from France, the UK, and the US hold crucial information about the misappropriated funds.

“I was at the home of one big personality together with three ambassadors… and the conversation that was had there was dangerous… The ambassadors know about all the monies that are stolen from the country and sent abroad,” Ennin alleged, adding, “We are all going to see what will happen.”

Ennin also mentioned irregularities he observed during a visit to Guyana, which revealed questionable investments in the country’s oil sector.

“I went to Guyana, and you would be amazed at the kind of things I saw there… The day of reckoning is coming,” he said.

The former legislator vowed to present evidence when the time arises, stating, “When it comes, I’m prepared to go before the committee… We have to put Ghana first.”

He further pledged to expose government officials allegedly involved in illegal small-scale mining (galamsey).

These remarks follow the announcement of President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL), aimed at recovering misappropriated funds and prosecuting corrupt officials.

The incoming administration has also criticized last-minute actions by the outgoing NPP government, including recruitments and promotions, labeling them acts of bad faith.

The NPP, however, dismissed these accusations, with spokesperson Fatimah Abubakar asserting that the administration was acting within its mandate.

Edward Ennin’s revelations add to the mounting tensions as Ghana prepares for a new administration.
