Joseph Osei, popularly known as Wayoosi in the Kumawood movie industry, has opened up about the real reason for his departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In a candid interview, the actor shared how his relationship with the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), soured following a key election campaign.
Wayoosi had been a staunch supporter of NAPO during his bid for the Member of Parliament (MP) seat in the Manhyia South constituency, going to great lengths to ensure his victory. Despite his efforts, including making calls to delegates and actively campaigning, Wayoosi felt abandoned after NAPO’s success. He expressed his frustration, stating that his attempts to reach out to NAPO were met with excuses like “I’m in a meeting” or “I’m too busy.”
This perceived betrayal left Wayoosi disillusioned, prompting him to part ways with the NPP. “After all I did to help him win, I was treated like an afterthought,” Wayoosi said bitterly. As a result, he has now pledged his support to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
For Wayoosi, this move is more than a political decision—it’s a personal statement on loyalty, respect, and the disillusionment he faced within the political realm. His departure highlights the emotional challenges often faced by individuals caught in the intersection of politics and personal relationships.
