NAPO Finally Speaks About NPP’s Defeat as He Sends Bold Message to Party Faithful

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the 2024 Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has formally acknowledged the party’s defeat in the recent general elections.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerged victorious in both the presidential and parliamentary polls, marking a significant shift in Ghana’s political landscape, as reported by Adomonline.

In a statement issued on December 11, 2024, Dr. Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for participating in the democratic process and respecting the will of the people.

“The NPP respects the verdict of the electorate,” he stated, emphasizing the party’s acknowledgment of the concerns raised by voters.

Dr. Prempeh commended the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other party leaders for their dedication and efforts throughout the campaign.

He highlighted the need for deep introspection within the party to understand the reasons behind the loss.

“I believe in the NPP’s values, ideals, and traditions. As we go into a period of honest introspection, I am confident that we will emerge stronger and bounce back to win the trust and confidence of Ghanaians,” Dr. Prempeh noted, expressing optimism about the party’s future.

He also acknowledged the contributions of his team, party supporters, and family, who stood by him and the NPP ticket during the election period.

He emphasized the importance of unity within the party as it moves forward to rebuild and regain public confidence.

Dr. Prempeh further called for resilience among party members, urging them to remain steadfast in the face of the defeat.

“As we prepare for the future, it is essential to draw lessons from this experience and work collectively to address the concerns of Ghanaians,” he remarked.

The NPP’s loss has been a significant moment for the party, highlighting the need for introspection and a reevaluation of its strategies and engagement with the electorate.

While the results reflect a shift in voter sentiment, NAPO’s statement underscores the party’s commitment to learning from this outcome and striving for improvement.

This statement from Dr. Prempeh marks the beginning of the NPP’s efforts to regroup and plan for the future as they aim to restore their position in Ghanaian politics.
