The results of the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections indicate that the National Democratic Congress will be the majority in the next Parliament with their flag-bearer as the president of the state. The results also showed very few numbers of the incumbent New Patriotic Party members of parliament retaining their seats which contributed to them losing the majority spot in the next parliament.
In a post sighted on the official twitter page of Joy News is an interactive feed on the state of the next parliament. The post was to bring the minds of Ghanaians closer on a statement made by the current majority leader in relation to parliamentary activities. In the recent mayhems caused in parliament, Afenyo-Markin reiterated that he will never sit in the minority side of parliament for it does not suit him spiritually. It was left to Ghanaians to indicate where the current majority leader will be sitting in the next parliament considering the results of the just ended elections.
Netizens have shared their opinions with many tagging the majority as someone who makes statements without thinking of consequences. Find other comments I gathered from the post.
“He said that because he is part of the majority in the 8th Parliament and now he will sit with the Minority for just 4 years after Jan. 7 and will join a huge NPP majority on January 7,2029. This is NDC’s last Presidential Victory in the history of Ghana”
“The NPP party may not give him the opportunity to lead it member in parliament again. He played a role in this unprecedented defeat in the history of the 4th Republic”
“He will sit at the minor – mini – minority side that he despises so much. He can run to the supreme court if he likes”
“Am sure his Spiritualities “Gods” will demote him, he has lost. First “Majority” Leader to suffer this Annihilation! First “Majority” leader who Majors in Minors! He has failed too, he talked too much! He is the MINORITY LEADER!”
