“I Have Never Rigged An Election Before, I Always Win Genuinely”

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has firmly dismissed allegations of election rigging leveled against her by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to a report by Adomonline on Saturday, December 7, 2024, addressing the accusations in an interview with Adom News, the MP maintained that her electoral successes have always been legitimate.

“I have never rigged an election before, and I always win genuinely,” she asserted, rejecting claims that military personnel were stationed at a hotel in Galilea to tamper with ballots in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Hawa Koomson, a prominent figure in the NPP, expressed confidence in the electoral process and called for peaceful conduct during the elections in the Awutu Senya East constituency.

A total of 173,989 registered voters are expected to participate in the polls across 314 polling stations, including at Roman JHS, where the MP plans to cast her vote.

Emphasizing her commitment to ensuring a smooth and fair voting exercise, Hawa Koomson assured constituents that she would not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the process.

“I pledge to ensure a peaceful election in Kasoa,” she said, while also issuing a strong warning to the opposition.

“However, if there is any misbehavior from them, I will respond decisively.”

The allegations from the NDC sparked widespread discussions in the constituency, with opposition members accusing the ruling party of attempting to manipulate the vote.

Hawa Koomson’s response aims to counter these claims and reinforce her reputation as a legitimate political leader.
