‘This Election is Between a Blessing and a Curse”

Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, commonly known as St. Sark, the founder of Open Arms Ministry in Kumasi, has made a bold claim regarding Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.

According to MyNewsGH on Saturday, November 30, 2024, St. Sark controversially stated that Dr. Bawumia will not vote for himself during the December 7 elections, suggesting that both President Akufo-Addo and former President Kufuor would also withhold their support for the candidate.

In an interview with Onua FM, St. Sark explained the rationale behind his statement, asserting that Dr. Bawumia is “spiritually entangled,” and voting for himself would have dire consequences.

According to the pastor, this election represents a choice between a “blessing and a curse,” with Bawumia’s spiritual predicament preventing him from casting a vote for his own candidacy.

“Bawumia will not vote for himself because he knows if he does, he will bring a big problem upon himself. This election is between a blessing and a curse,” St. Sark stated.

He further suggested that the alleged spiritual entanglement may be linked to Bawumia’s supposed ties to a shrine, which he described as an “abomination to Christendom.”

This assertion has stirred controversy, with some questioning the validity of St. Sark’s claims and others interpreting them as an attack on Bawumia’s character.

In addition to these spiritual allegations, St. Sark criticized the NPP flagbearer for failing to fulfill promises, particularly the pledge to build secondary schools in Zongo communities. The pastor went on to accuse Bawumia of dishonesty.

“Lying is haram in the presence of God, and the Bible describes the devil as the father of all liars. And Bawumia is a liar,” St. Sark declared, intensifying the controversy surrounding his remarks.
