According to a report by Ghanaweb, the Asokore Mampong District Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Esther Rida, has thrown out the case involving Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah and Kumawood actor Sean Paul.
This legal matter traces back to July 2024 when Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah, head of the Believers Worship Center, initiated Sean Paul’s arrest. This action followed the actor’s public claims that the prophet was swindling money from his church members by selling items like *sobolo* (Hibiscus juice) and other goods for spiritual reasons. During an RTV interview, Sean Paul labeled the practice as misleading, referring to it as “daylight robbery.”
In response to these remarks, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah filed a defamation lawsuit, which resulted in Sean Paul’s arrest. Although the actor was initially held in custody, he was later released after his legal team appealed to a High Court. He continued to appear in court at the Asokore Mampong District Court.
However, Her Ladyship Esther Rida, who recently assumed the case, expressed concerns regarding its management. She questioned the rationale behind transferring the case from Feyiasi to the Asokore Mampong court, emphasizing that it was a civil issue that should not have been moved between jurisdictions. Due to these concerns, the case was dismissed.
This incident is not the first time Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah has pursued legal action against his critics. Sean Paul’s situation adds to a series of similar occurrences. For instance, Pastor Frimpong, who criticized the prophet on Multi-TV, was recently arrested, with a video showing him in handcuffs pleading for forgiveness. Other individuals, including pastors and public figures, have reportedly faced similar repercussions for speaking out against the prophet.
Her Ladyship Rida has also dismissed other comparable cases, igniting discussions about the frequent arrests of those who criticize Kyei-Duah.
