The driver of a Sprinter bus with registration number GT 4867-13 has died on the spot in an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
The bus, carrying passengers, was traveling to Lapaz from Underbridge.
One of the passengers, Louis Djamgma, told ‘ Ohene Amponsah that the driver lost control while attempting to dodge potholes on the road.
Unfortunately, the vehicle hit one of the numerous potholes, veered off the road, and crashed into a nearby bush.
The driver’s mate, Godwin Sarbah, who survived the accident, recounted hearing the screams of passengers moments before the vehicle landed on its side.
Mr. Sarbah stated that the vehicle had no mechanical issues, nor was his late boss speeding at the time of the incident.
Personnel from the National Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and transported the body of the deceased to the mortuary.
