Pupils in Dorfor Kluma, a community in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region, have voiced their concerns about studying in deteriorating classroom buildings.
The classrooms, which are in poor condition, lack doors and windows, allowing stray animals to enter, further disrupting the teaching and learning environment.
Teachers are also facing challenges due to inadequate resources, including the absence of a staff common room, which limits their ability to prepare effectively for lessons.
These conditions are impacting the quality of education, hindering both teachers and students from achieving their full potential.

Both pupils and teachers are urgently calling for intervention to improve the facilities and prevent any potential disaster.
“The school is forty years and the structure was put up by the government and there are no walls to the compound so the community is trying to provide a wall for the school.
“Those walls provided by the community are deteriorating and we find it difficult to keep students in the building when it is about to rain as a result of the fear we close the student to go home. the holes in the classroom are more than potholes.”

“The school buildings are not in a proper position, so we urge the government to intervene in our situation.
There are no staff rooms, so teachers have to come to the corridor to mark the books we also need a computer lab to deepen our knowledge in ICT.”
“We don’t have a cafeteria in our school, so we need the government to help us with this and also with our school building.”
