NDC inching to victory – Effutu NDC Parliamentary candidate

James Kofi Annan, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Effutu Constituency in the Central Region, says multiple research studies suggest a strong chance of an NDC victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections on December 7.

However, he expressed concern over the recent registration and transfer of non-resident voters into the constituency, which he believes could undermine the accuracy of the projections.

During a three-day tour with NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, who engaged with constituents in Effutu, Annan highlighted several infrastructural projects undertaken by the NDC in the Winneba area.

He urged voters to support the party’s return to power, citing its track record in advancing development in the region.

Annan also noted that while various research reports predict NDC wins in both the parliamentary and presidential races, the influx of non-resident voters registered by the NPP could impact the final outcome, as the data from these studies did not account for these new voters.

James Kofi Annan predicts 55 per cent victory for himself in the parliamentary elections.

“All I want to say is that in the Effutu constituency grounds are very good and we are on the road to winning back the seat from the NPP. There have been a few research conducted in the constituency and it all points to the NDC winning the election.

“Look at the visit of John Mahama and the numbers that came with it. It is unprecedented but of course, I’m not looking at the crowd and projecting a win but I am looking at how people are responding to our message,” James Kofi Annan said.

“Most of the development we have in this constituency was done under the NDC administration. The NPP has done very little for this constituency except to build some few community centres and some libraries. I have employed a majority of people in this constituency,” the NDC Parliamentary candidate said.

“I should be very honest with myself that it will be difficult to predict by which margin I will win the election but I am hopeful of over a 55 or 60% win. But that can be possible if the imported voters don’t turn out in their numbers to vote on that day” James Kofi Annan said.

Flagbearer of the NDC John Dramani Mahama who addressed a charged crowd called on party supporters to vote for the NDC while lashing out at the NPP for the bad leadership.

Making a case for James Kofi Annan, John Mahama promised to make the latter one of the key members of his administration and hence urged the people to support him.
