The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has criticised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) lack of commitment to the people of the Volta Region.
Volta NDC says several projects started by the erstwhile Mahama administration have been left abandoned by the current government.
According to the NDC in the Volta Region, the recent visit by the NPP’s presidential candidate to the region failed to project any plan of the NPP for the Volta region and also accused Dr Bawumia of making several promises during his tour to the region but failed to highlight them in his manifesto.
Speaking at a press conference, the Volta regional chairman of the NDC, Mawutor Agbavitor, said the NDC’s policies aim to improve the lives of people in the region adding that the party will win all the 18 parliamentary seats in the region.
“At Juapong in the North Tongu constituency, the field chairman of the Economic Management Team promised to revive the Juapong textile factory if he was elected the president, a dream that would never see the light of day.
“The question is, can this be found in the NPP manifesto? What has he done about that factory since he became the field chairman of the Economic Management Team?
“It is not surprising that Bawumia will still be talking about the construction of the Ho to Tokpo Road in the year 2024. Was this not the same road they told us in 2019, the year of the road budget, that they would construct? Can any right-thinking person believe Bawumia and the NPP for promising us that they will construct the whole Tokpo Road after five years of no evidence?”
