Speed Darlington Released From Police Custody

Deji Adeyanju, a popular activist, has confirmed the release of musician and social media star Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, from the Nigerian police Intelligence Response Team.

Adeyanju, confirmed the release of Speeddarlington, also known as Akpi, in a tweet late Tuesday.

Adeyanju also praised the work of popular campaigner Omoyele Sowore and another legal counsel, Stan Alieke, in obtaining Speeddarlington’s release.

“Special appreciation to #YeleSowore, super reliable senior lawyer #stanalieke, and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington. Must also appreciate Prof Sanusi and his team at IRT for the professionalism today,” the tweet read.

Earlier Adeyanju claimed that Speeddarlington was arrested in Lagos State last Friday and then moved to Abuja, where he was detained.

He stated that the arrest was based on a legal complaint from Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy.
