One of the most respected media personalities of our time, Frema Adunyame, has been recognized for her exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry at the 6th edition of Medimafo Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards.
The ceremony, held on September 20 at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Auditorium, celebrated individuals and institutions that have significantly impacted the entertainment sector.
Frema Adunyame, a journalist with Citi FM and Channel One TV, was awarded for her unvacillating dedication and achievements in broadcasting.
She has consistently demonstrated her versatility and expertise with a career spanning radio, television, and public relations.
A graduate of the School of Performing Arts at the University of Ghana, Legon, Adunyame has honed her skills through various training programs, including those with Canon France International and Voice of America.
Her journey in the media industry began at Radio Mercury in Kumasi. Then TV3, where she served as a senior news anchor and Head of the Entertainment desk for four years before joining ETV News. Subsequently, she held prominent roles at Metro TV, anchoring news programs, and hosting the documentary series “Panorama and Utour, a tourism show.
Beyond her broadcasting career, the media icon is a dedicated philanthropist and the founder of The Adunyame Foundation.
Through this organization, she has focused on empowering women and young girls, particularly through the Aketesia Project.
This initiative aims to directly impact 20,000 individuals through community workshops and basic school programs.
Currently, Frema Adunyame serves as the Manager for Events and Partnerships at Citi FM and Channel One TV.
Apart from anchoring news, she is also the co-host of the popular entertainment show “Upside Down,” which airs every Sunday at 7 PM on Channel One TV.
