Ghanaian boxer and socialite Briamah Kamoko, popularly known as ‘Bukom Banku,’ has warned that if stakeholders including the Electoral Commission and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) do not act appropriately in the upcoming elections, it could trigger chaos.
Bukom Banku made these statements while attending the “Enough is Enough” demonstration, a nationwide protest held by the opposition NDC that saw significant participation from citizens.
Held on Tuesday, September 17, the protest aimed to express dissatisfaction with discrepancies in the provisional voters register.
Prior to this, the NDC had repeatedly raised serious concerns about the register’s credibility, arguing that it could undermine the integrity of the December 7 general elections.
As a staunch NDC supporter, Bukom Banku has warned the relevant authorities to address these issues to ensure free and fair elections; otherwise, it could lead to war.
“Tell Ghanaians, the National Peace Council, the EC, and NPP to stand firm. They should do things in an orderly manner so the elections are free and fair.
“Tell the EC that we are ready for war and we are ready to take power. If the NPP wants to bring confusion, we are ready,” he told the media.
He added, “You know Mahama is a peace-loving person but if people want to create problems in Ghana, we are ready for war.”
