There’s no rush to lose your virginity, a fact that several of Hollywood’s biggest stars will agree with.
Many celebrities have opened up about being intimate with a partner at a young age. Some have even disclosed that they were 12 when it happened.
However, these six have spoken candidly about waiting. Some held out for marriage. Others waited for religious reasons. They were all older than 25 when they had sex for the first time.
The youngest on this list had their first encounter at 27 when they got married. Interestingly, the oldest also waited until they were married and was nearly 40 when it happened.
Adriana Lima – 27
Adriana Lima famously waited until marriage to lose her virginity. She was 27 when she married her ex husband Marko Jaric.
Tamera Mowry – 29
“I don’t know how to explain this. I’m religious, so I waited until I was 29 to lose my virginity,” Tamera Mowry said to HOT 97 in 2013. “You may not understand this [but] I did it, then I felt guilty, then I became celibate until I got married.”
David Archuleta – 30
David Archuleta, who used to be Mormon, recently joked about how old he was when he lost his virginity. “I’m an ex-Mormon, of course I was a 30-year-old virgin,” he said in a video on TikTok, reiterating, “…was.”
Tim Tebow – 32
Football star Tim Tebow famously announced that he was waiting until marriage during a 2009 interview.
“Yes, I am [waiting until marriage],” he explained, via the Christian Post. “I think you’re stunned right now. You can’t even ask a question … I was ready for that question, but I don’t think y’all were.”
He was 32 when he married Demi-Leigh Tebow in early 2020.
Rebel Wilson – 35
Rebel Wilson opened up about losing her virginity at 35, writing, “People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature. And I think that could be a positive message. You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person.”
She added that at one point she lied about how old she was when it happened, telling a friend that she “did it just to get it over with when I was like 23.”
“Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening. And then the people that said, ‘Oh, at 24, it’s so late.’ And then I’m sitting here thinking, ‘Oh my god, my number’s 35. What the hell? I’m going to look like the biggest loser,’” she said.
“It’s absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would’ve explored my sexuality more. I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing,” Rebel added. “And so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father’s death and realizing, oh, even though I’d seen marriage as a terrible thing and waste of time, I started opening myself up to that. And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think it’s a sign of where society kind of was.
A.C. Green – 38
Basketball legend A.C. Green revealed that he didn’t lose his virginity until after he got married in 2002 at the age of 38.
“It is definitely worth waiting,” he said in an interview at the time, via ABC News. “When you marry the right person at the right time have you no regrets. For me, I have nothing but smiles on my face.”
Many other stars have also addressed how old they were when they lost their virginity. Some have even revealed their celebrity partner at the time.
