Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui is of the view that the Majority leader, Alex Afenyo Markin has no respect for the aged woman.
According to her, for the Majority Leader to personally attack Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang unprovoked proves that he disregards aged women and that should not be countenanced.
She was speaking to the media in Parliament after the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament had to break proceedings because there was rage in Parliament over comments made by Afenyo Markin.
“Afenyo was taught communication studies by Prof Naana Jane and what he did there is not what is exemplified in what she taught him. He should go back there and revise his notes and do the needful. This is a sign and it implies that either he does not respect aged women in society. Nobody in this chamber has as of today spoken about the age of Akufo-Addo who is equally old.
She continued “We are not taking this lightly at all and the Central region is really offended. He is from the Central region so he should know better and do better. The women of Central region should rise and tell him what he is saying is wrong. She has nothing to do with the state of the nation. The nation is in coma and they should figure out how they are going to fix it. After seven years, they should still not be blaming the NDC”.
