Mohbad’s Widow Wants Court -Ordered DNA Test

Late singer Mohbad and wife

Widow of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, Wunmi, has spoken out amidst the ongoing paternity dispute surrounding their son, Liam.

Contrary to speculation, Wunmi asserted that her husband had never questioned the paternity of their child during his lifetime.

In a series of Instagram posts, Wunmi addressed the growing calls for a DNA test on Liam, emphasising that such demands were unjust and hurtful to both her and her late husband’s memory. She expressed deep sorrow and pain over the controversy, which has unfolded since Mohbad’s passing.

“The DNA issue is one that has brought tears to my eyes and pain to my heart,” Wunmi wrote, revealing the emotional toll the situation has taken on her. Despite legal advice to remain silent, she felt compelled to address the misconceptions circulating on social media.

Wunmi clarified that there had never been any doubt about Liam’s paternity until after her husband’s death. She refuted claims that Mohbad or his family had ever questioned the child’s lineage. Instead, she highlighted that the first time she heard of any doubts was through social media, and neither Mohbad nor his family had raised the issue with her directly.

Addressing the public, Wunmi called for understanding and urged individuals to support her plea for a court-ordered DNA test. She stressed that her father-in-law’s legal team had been contacted, and terms and conditions for the test had been provided. However, she emphasised the need for a formal court order to proceed with the DNA examination.

As the controversy continues to unfold, Wunmi’s call for a court-ordered DNA test may pave the way for clarity and closure in this highly publicised case.
