I Want My Movie to Go International- Lilwin Reveals Why He Did Not Feature Kwaku Manu, McBrown, Dr. Likee And More In His Movie

Controversial Kumawood actor cum musician, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin has explained why he chose to feature Nollywood stars; Ramsey Noah, Charles Awurum, and popular Awilo Sharp Sharp, neglecting his colleagues in the movie fraternity.

Speaking in an interview on Power FM which ghbase.com monitored, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin says he wants his movies to go global, the reason why he did not focus on only Ghanaian actors and actresses.

The comic actor says he does not understand why Ghanaians would question his decision to feature Nigerian stars as though he has committed an abomination.

Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin claims in his popular “Cocoa Season”, “Papa No”, among others, he featured many Ghanaian actors and actresses so in the end, his movie did not go as far as he anticipated.

In buttressing his assertion, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin said that it is for going global that in American movies, Chinese and Indian movie stars are featured.

“People are questioning why I involved Nigerian artists, but the truth is without international stars it will be difficult for the movie to thrive. Even American movies sometimes, feature Chinese and Indian movie stars. So why are people complaining because I featured Nigerian artists in my movie?”, he said.

Lilwin also stated that he did not feature the likes of Bill Asamoah, Emelia Brobbey, Kwaku Manu, Nana Ama McBrown, and many others because it is impossible to feature all of them in a movie.

“I don’t understand. Can you feature all Ghanaian movie stars in one movie? No. So if you want to make strides you have to feature outsiders because it’s not meant to be consumed by Ghanaians alone but internationally when I upload it on Netflix. Nigerian music artists feature Chris Brown, Eminem, and other international stars because they want global recognition,” he added.
