I Am Not A Member of Bawumia’s Team- Okyeame Kwame

Ghana’s rap dacta, Okyeame Kwame has refuted claims of being a member of the manifesto committee formed by the New Patriotic Party.

This comes after the rapper was named among the 15 members of the New Patriotic Party’s Manifesto Committee for tourism, arts and culture.

The musician in a statement sighted by Ghbase.com has said that he is not into politics and has no plans venturing into politics.

Okyeame Kwame claims he has not been paid by the vice president and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Bawumia to be a member of his campaign team as it has been reported online.

He also stated in the press he released that he is yet to be officially invited by the vice president or his campaign team as a member of the manifesto committee of the New Patriotic Party.

“I wish to reassure my respected following and reiterate that I remain non-partisan and apolitical, as I have been throughout my entire career. I have not been paid by H.E. The Vice President’s campaign team to be a member of the committee for the arts and tourism manifesto nor have I officially been invited on my terms as non-partisan participant”, part of the statement said.

Okyeame Kwame added that even though he is not affiliated to any political party in Ghana, as a political animal and a concerned citizen, his doors are always opened for any political party as far as contributing his quota to the development of the country is concerned.

“Indeed, when it comes to contributing policy opinion towards the advancement of the Arts and Culture in Ghana, I am respectfully open to all political or ideological persuasions, be they NPP, NDC, CPP, Independent or other, that may want me to openly and sincerely lend my knowledge to develop this nobel industry,” he added.
