Founder of the Ghana Models Awards, Jerry Wonder Sampson, has revealed plans for a global peace campaign titled, ‘Joy In Togetherness’.
This initiative aims to leverage the influence of models and activists from diverse nationalities to raise awareness about the escalating tensions, and critical situations in Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia.
The ‘Joy In Togetherness’ campaign seeks to use impactful visuals, featuring selected models and activists to draw attention to ongoing conflicts, particularly in regions like China and the U.S.A., Russia and Ukraine, and Israel and its neighbours.
“The world cannot afford to remain indifferent to the alarming violence and strife, especially when innocent children are caught in the crossfire. Through the ‘Joy In Togetherness’ campaign, we aim to voice our concern and advocate for an immediate end to these acts of violence globally,” stated Jerry.
He elaborated on the campaign’s concept, emphasising the deployment of clear and appealing messages accompanied by visually compelling illustrations that will utilise cutting-edge technology, and disseminated through social media platforms.
Jerry Wonder underlined the potential impact on Ghanaian models abroad, noting, “We have Ghanaian professional models making a mark internationally. Their wellbeing is of utmost importance as they represent and inspire talents in Ghana. Preserving them is an essential aspect of our responsibility.”
The ‘Joy In Togetherness’ global peace campaign is set to forge partnerships with Non-Governmental Organizations, philanthropists, and foreign embassies in Ghana.
Jerry Wonder expressed gratitude to the longstanding sponsors of the Ghana Models Awards, including Glasel Company Limited, Flora Tissues, Top Choco, and Ghandour Cosmetics, for their support since 2020.
As the campaign gains momentum, it aims to use the influential platform of the Ghana Models Awards to contribute to the global discourse on peace and unity.
