EX- Players Should Run Football In Ghana And Not Degree Holders- Kwadwo Asamoah

Following Black Stars’ abysmal performance in the AFCON, former Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has suggested that ex-footballers should be made to run football in Ghana.

Speaking with Kwadwo Sheldon in an interview, the former Black Stars player said that he thinks the abysmal performance of the team in tournaments is a result of the people who are allowed to run it.

Kwadwo Asamoah believes that football in Ghana would be better if ex-players were allowed to run football in the country.

According to him, ex-football players have more knowledge and experience in football than the degree holders who run football in the country.

“I think they give more chances to ex-footballers. As I always say, you might have a degree in football but things a footballer will know about inside and outside the pitch; he has been through, he has learned it, He has that experience,” he said.

He added, “Probably most of our people at the FA haven’t been to Europe to experience how football is run. In football, we have people who are good in different ways so you can’t mix it. You can’t be like he has been to school meanwhile he doesn’t know anything about football.”

He concluded “I think if they give more chances, there are people who want to be part, that want to bring their experience to help the nation. But if you don’t give them the chance, they will say let me sit somewhere,”
