There are a number of all-Premier League clashes in this year’s FA Cup fourth round, meaning the maximum number of top-flight teams remaining in the next phase of the competition will be 10.
Here we focus on two of the standout match-ups on Saturday, with Sheffield United hosting Brighton and Newcastle visiting Fulham.
Sheffield United v Brighton (Saturday, 3pm)
Bet 1: Both teams to score
Both teams have scored in 22 of Brighton’s 29 games in all competitions this season and a repeat of that looks likely when they visit Sheffield United, who have improved under Chris Wilder.
The Blades have netted in four of their last five matchups, with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City the exception, and they can get on the scoresheet again in this clash.
Bet 2: Anel Ahmedhodzic to be shown a card
Discipline has been an issue for the Blades this season and their captain Anel Ahmedhodzic has often been one of their worst offenders.
The defender has six cards in 14 Premier League starts and against a tricky Brighton forward line, he could fall foul of the referee once more.
Bet 3: Evan Ferguson to score at any time
The success of Joao Pedro and manager Roberto De Zerbi’s insistence on rotation means that opportunities have been more limited for Evan Ferguson this season, but he still has six league goals in 11 starts and should feature in this one.
Take the Irishman to get on the scoresheet.
Fulham v Newcastle (Saturday, 7pm)
Fulham have won just two of their last nine games in all competitions and look vulnerable against a rested Newcastle side.
It will be two weeks since the Magpies’ last game by the time these two sides meet, while the hosts faced Liverpool on Wednesday and the quick turnaround could give the advantage to the away side.
Bet 2: Alexander Isak to score at any time
Alexander Isak has been one of the most impressive attackers in the Premier League this season, scoring 14 times in 19 starts in all competitions.
The Swede netted twice in Newcastle’s win over Sunderland in the last round and can add to his tally in this clash.
Bet 3: Over three goals in the match
Newcastle have scored seven goals in their three games in 2024 and they have been involved in a number of high-scoring matches this season.
