Cash Spent on Football Should Be Channeled to Ghanaian Musicians- Lyrical Joe

Ghanaian rapper, Lyrical Joe has suggested that money spent on football in Ghana should be channeled to Ghanaian musicians.

He said this following the Black Stars’ abysmal performance in the ongoing AFCON.

The government of Ghana has spent a lot of money on the Black Stars in the AFCON but it seems nothing came out of it.

Black Stars played a draw match with both Egypt and Mozambique and lost to Cape Verde in their opening game.

With just two points, the Black Stars have exited from the AFCON.

Speaking with Amansan Krakye on Property FM, Lyrical has said that he thinks the money spent on football in Ghana should be used to support musicians in Ghana.

According to him, musicians in Ghana are doing their best to break boundaries but financial constraints is not allowing that.

Lyrical Joe believes if the money invested into football is channeled to Ghanaian musicians, they can make more impact and win Grammys.

“Of course, we can win the Grammys and make more impact with that kind of resources and it’s evident not like anyone is lying or anything else,” he said.

He added “The amount that is spent by the government on football to sponsor all these things, the same amount is not spent by the government on music. Maybe the musicians themselves spend that amount on their music but the government doesn’t spend that colossal amount on us”.

Speaking on why Ghanaians easily get hurt when the Black Stars mess up, Lyrical Joe said “That’s why people get hurt or the country will be affected when we lose in a competition like that because this money is not child’s play money”.
