We lacked experience – Jordan Ayew speaks after Blackstars defeat against Cape Verde

Following the Blackstars’ disappointing loss to Cape Verde in their opening game of the AFCON tournament, Ghanaian international and Crystal Palace forward, Jordan Ayew has addressed the media, offering insights into the team’s abysmal performance.

Speaking in an after-match interview, Jordan Ayew candidly confirmed what many football enthusiasts had observed during the match – the Black Stars lacked experience, ultimately contributing to their defeat.

Ayew, who has been a key player for both Crystal Palace and the Ghana national team, acknowledged the challenges faced by the squad.

In response to a question about his feelings after the disappointing loss, Ayew remarked, “Sometimes it does not go your way.”

The 2-1 loss has not only fueled criticism of the team’s performance but also escalated into an alarming incident that marred the aftermath of the match.

According to ace Ghanaian sports journalist Sadiq Adams, a fan who was dissatisfied with manager Chris Hughton’s tactics and the team’s lacklustre performance, resorted to physical aggression against the coach.

The fan has been arrested and is currently in the grip of the Ivorian police force.
