The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has issued a warning about a significant surge in job scams across Ghana, urging citizens to exercise caution.
Through its cybercrime reporting channels, the CSA has received a minimum of 15 reports, documenting losses exceeding GH₵124,000 for the victims.
The scammers employ tactics centred around impersonating recruiters and initiating unsolicited communication to unsuspecting individuals with enticing job opportunities.
These deceptive offers often promise substantial salaries coupled with minimal work requirements, a combination that raises immediate concerns for those familiar with legitimate job markets.
In a statement, the CSA advised, “If it appears too good to be true, it is likely a scam.”
The caution comes as part of efforts to alert the public to the growing threat of fraudulent job schemes in the region.
