Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, known for her attempt to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon by an individual, is now aiming for four other impressive records.
Following an astounding 126 hours and 52 minutes of uninterrupted singing, Afua and her team wasted no time in submitting the evidence of their accomplishment to the Guinness World Records on Saturday, January 6, 2024. They eagerly anticipate the review and confirmation of this remarkable achievement that spanned five captivating days.
However, Afua, in an interview with the Daily Graphic revealed that her aspirations extend beyond this. In addition to the singing record, her team will also be applying for the titles of the first Ghanaian and African female to perform continuously for five days, the longest-lasting musical event in both Ghana and Africa, the first musical show to feature eight DJs performing non-stop for five days, and the first female to undertake such a challenging singing marathon.
She said, “I think the current attempt I did captures four records, but many haven’t paid attention. There are many records that I have broken, but you have to apply for them separately.
”Currently, we are doing the longest singing marathon, but it applies for four or five records on their platforms. We have submitted the current one, but we are now going to look into the others. We will submit them separately.”
