Being a superwoman is a scam; it robs you of your femininity – Victoria Hamah advises GH women

Victoria Hamah, a women’s rights activist and former Deputy Minister of Communications, has told women not to become “superwomen” because it takes away their beauty and makes them more like men.

The Progressive Organization for Women’s Advancement (POWA), which Ms. Hamah runs, has worked hard for women’s rights. She said that trying to be a superwoman is a “scam” that women shouldn’t aim for.

Although the term “superwoman” refers to a woman who can handle the demands of a career, marriage, and motherhood all at the same time, it also has the meaning of a woman who can succeed in all areas of life because she is superhuman.

Many people, especially non-feminists, believe that this is an unrealistic expectation of women. But some women think they can become superwomen.

Victoria Hamah has openly called feminism an old idea that hasn’t done anything about the uneven power between men and women. She says that women should give up the idea of the superwoman and accept their femininity, which are traits or qualities that are seen as typical of women.

“Super Woman is a Scam! It robs you of your Femininity and turns you into a Man,” she wrote on social media.

Ms. Hamah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), fights hard for women’s rights because she thinks that respecting women’s rights can lead to bigger social justice issues.
