Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Remove Councilor Nothile Mthethwa Amid Alliance Fallout

EFF Takes Decisive Action Against Defiant Deputy Mayor in Mtubatuba Township

In a surprising turn of events, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have opted to dismiss Councilor Nothile Mthethwa from his position in the Mtubatuba township. This decision comes in the wake of Mthethwa’s alleged refusal to step down following the dissolution of the alliance between the EFF and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) earlier this year. Nothile Mthethwa, who held the significant role of deputy mayor, has been a prominent figure in local governance for an extensive period.

Despite his longstanding service, Mthethwa’s unwavering stance post-alliance termination in February prompted the EFF to take this course of action. The party convened a recent meeting where the matter was exhaustively deliberated upon by its leadership.

It was collectively determined that Mthethwa’s refusal to resign directly contravened the party’s core tenets and posed a threat to the ‘s integrity. Reports indicate that Councilor Mthethwa’s dismissal has already been executed, signaling a resolute message that the EFF will not tolerate dissent within its ranks. The party remains committed to upholding its values and ensuring discipline among its members.

Renowned for its unwavering advocacy for social and economic justice, the EFF maintains a significant presence in South African politics. This expulsion serves as another testament to the party’s dedication to internal solidarity and adherence to collective decisions.
