Ulrich Manfoumbi made this known in state television on Wednesday, according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>Bongo has reportedly been held under house arrest since the coup in the Central African nation in late August.<\/p>\n<p>Given his state of health, the former President of the Republic Ali Bongo Ondimba is free to move about. He may, if he wishes, travel abroad to receive medical check-ups,\u201d junta spokesperson Col. Ulrich Manfoumbi said on state television, reading a statement from transitional leader Gen. Brice Oligui Nguema.<\/p>\n<p>The transitional leader Gen Brice Oligui Nguema-led junta also released images showing Bongo greeting Abdou Abarry, head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa, at Bongo\u2019s residence in the capital Libreville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tribunal Affirms Tinubu\u2019s Election<\/strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/54a065aa8e9c4aff82ecf142530d46df\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Photo Credit:Independent News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2023 Presidential Election Peti\u00adtions Court (PEPC), on Wednesday, dismissed two separate petitions filed by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and that of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, challenging the decla\u00adration of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the PEPC dismissed the peti\u00adtion of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), seeking the disqualification of Tinubu on the ground that his vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shet\u00adtima \u201cunlawfully\u201d allowed himself to be nominated twice for two different positions.<\/p>\n<p>The first petition determined was that of the APM.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that Shettima, ab initio was nominated by the APC as candidate for Borno Central Senatorial district and was later nominated by the same party as vice presidential candidate fol\u00adlowing the withdrawal of one Kabiru Masari, a place holder, who was the ini\u00adtial vice presidential candidate to Tinubu.<\/p>\n<p>In its petition, the APM in\u00adsisted that Shettima was not qualified to have stood election with Tinubu on grounds of dou\u00adble nomination.<\/p>\n<p>But in his lead judgment, Chairman of the PEPC, Jus\u00adtice Haruna Tsammani, held that the petition of the APM \u201cis devoid of any merit\u201d and consequently dismissed same.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/07cd755d0f614a988cacf64b17fca2d9\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong> Photo Credit:Google <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tinubu\u2019s Govt Has Impoverished Nigerians \u2013 Okparaku<\/strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/471af4582335449782e787e29de5ce59\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Photo Credit:Independent News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As the Bola Tinubu admin\u00adistration celebrates its first 100 days in office, Mr. Bon\u00adiface Chukwudi Okparaku, the candidate of the People\u2019s Redemption Party (PRP) for Alimosho federal con\u00adstituency in Lagos State in the 2023 election; has said that the administration has failed to deliver on its prom\u00adises to the people of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview with Daily Independent on Tuesday in Lagos, he said that the administration has not met the expectations of the generality of Nigerians, adding that the government has inflicted pain and mis\u00adery on the people.<\/p>\n<p>According to the entre\u00adpreneur, the Tinubu admin\u00adistration has increased the poverty level in the country by removing subsidies on prime motor spirit common\u00adly called petrol.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that the remov\u00adal of subsidy was not wrong per se, but posited that the policies and programmes that were supposed to cush\u00adion the impact on the people were not to be put in place before the removal and this has led to the pauperization of Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe level of poverty in the country has risen sharp\u00adly and most of the people who are just surviving have been pushed into the pover\u00adty bracket.
