Pie fans will soon be able to eat all they want without putting on weight. Boffins have discovered a new drug that can control a fat switch in the brain.<\/p>\n
And it could even have saved Monty Python\u2019s famous glutton Mr Creosote, inset, who exploded after eating a \u201cwafer-thin mint\u201d.<\/p>\n
Tests on obese mice found they lost weight despite munching their way through a high calorie diet. The wonder drug \u2013 known as KDS2010 \u2013 is currently being tested to see if it is safe for humans.<\/p>\n
US scientist Dr Changjoon Justin Lee said: \u201cWe look to KDS2010 as a potential next-generation obesity treatment that can effectively combat obesity without suppressing appetite.\u201d<\/p>\n
A study at the Institute for Basic Science in South Korea found how the cluster of neurons in the brain responsible for controlling fat levels work. It may signal an end to obesity, which claims 2.8billion lives each year.<\/p>\n
IT sounds too good to be true, right?<\/p>\n
Boffins reckon they have discovered a drug that can control a \u201cfat switch\u201d in your brain.<\/p>\n
This means that instead of adding to your waistline, grub will instead be burnt off as energy.<\/p>\n
They reckon it will mean you can slob around eating whatever you want \u2013 and you won\u2019t put on a pound!<\/p>\n
It makes you drool just thinking about it!<\/p>\n
But while this is good news for the planet\u2019s one billion obese people (and those developing a middle-age spread), it won\u2019t be welcomed by everyone.<\/p>\n
Who\u2019s going to sign up to a diet plan or sweat it out in the gym if being fat becomes obsolete?<\/p>\n
People will keep their hard-earned cash \u2013 and spend it on choccies and crisps instead!<\/p>\n
