The primary opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed that everyone is eagerly anticipating the decision of the presidential petition court, with both Nigerians and the international community closely observing the judiciary.<\/p>\n
Remember that the Presidential tribunal had scheduled Wednesday, September 6th, as the day for delivering a verdict on the electoral disagreement.<\/p>\n
As per Channels TV reports, Umar Bangari, the Registrar of the Court of Appeal, has verified that interested television stations will have the opportunity to broadcast the proceedings live.<\/p>\n
In response to the situation, the PDP maintained that the announcement made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring Tinubu as president was deemed as \u201cdeceptive\u201d by them.<\/p>\n
The PDP, using its official Twitter account, formerly known as X, shared a message from the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s now official: The Court of Appeal has scheduled Wednesday, September 6, 2023, to deliver judgment on the much-awaited petition filed by our great Party, the @OfficialPDPNig, and our Presidential Candidate in the February 25, 2023 Election, @atiku concerning the fraudulent declaration of @officialABAT of the @OfficialAPCNg as winner of the election.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur eyes are on the judiciary as Nigerians and members of the international community await the verdict of the court.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and a member of Atiku\u2019s legal team, has called on the tribunal to deliver a fair verdict on the lawsuit that his client filed against President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n
The senior advocate mentioned that Nigerians and the global community are observing their actions.<\/p>\n
According to Daily Trust, the tribunal is required by law to deliver its judgments within 180 days after the petitions are filed by the candidates who feel wronged.<\/p>\n
In addition to Atiku, Peter Obi from the Labour Party (LP) is also contesting Tinubu\u2019s win at the election petition tribunal.<\/p>\n
Speaking on this, Ozekhome said: \u201cNot for judgment date yet. I expect justice to be done. I expect the tribunal to shun blaring sirens of power or executive intimidation to do justice. I expect the tribunal to know that Nigerians, the international community, and indeed the whole world are watching.\u201d<\/p>\n
