{"id":96543,"date":"2023-09-01T13:39:10","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T13:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/09\/01\/fati-close-to-brighton-loan-deal\/"},"modified":"2023-09-01T13:39:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T13:39:10","slug":"fati-close-to-brighton-loan-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/09\/01\/fati-close-to-brighton-loan-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Fati Close To Brighton Loan Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Ansu Fati<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ansu Fati is willing to leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes this week, with Brighton working on an ambitious loan deal for the Spain forward, sources have confirmed to ESPN.<\/p>\n<p>Tottenham have held talks with Barca as well, but they are also pursuing the signing of Nottingham Forest\u2019s Brennan Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>Fati, 20, is open to a season-long loan move to the Premier League, maintaining his link with Bar\u00e7a, but nothing has been finalised yet ahead of the transfer deadline.<\/p>\n<p>It marks a dramatic turnaround from Fati, who has previously been reluctant to leave the Catalan club this summer despite pressure from elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Bar\u00e7a, his agent, Jorge Mendes, and his father, Bori, have all been pushing for him to spend a year elsewhere in order to play regular football.<\/p>\n<p>Spurs and Chelsea had both been linked with Fati this week, but Brighton, coached by Roberto De Zerbi, emerged as the front-runners to conclude a deal on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Fati has featured off the bench in Bar\u00e7a\u2019s first three games of the season, but has struggled to earn a regular place in Xavi Hernandez\u2019s side since recovering from several long-term injuries ahead of the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n<p>After bursting onto the scene as a 16-year-old in 2019, he missed almost two years of football between 2020 and 2022 due to various knee and hamstring problems.<\/p>\n<p>He remained fit last season, making 51 appearances, the majority off the bench, and scoring 10 goals, but he was frustrated by a lack of starts.<\/p>\n<p>That led to his father, Bori, calling for him to quit the club earlier this year and saying he was annoyed by the way Bar\u00e7a were treating Fati, who inherited the No.10 shirt from Lionel Messi.<\/p>\n<p>Fati has a contract with Bar\u00e7a until 2027 and a \u20ac1 billion release clause.<\/p>\n<p>His possible departure, coupled with Cl\u00e9ment Lenglet\u2019s loan move to Aston Villa, could enable Bar\u00e7a to sign two more Mendes clients.<\/p>\n<p>Bar\u00e7a are waiting to clear enough space within their LaLiga-imposed spending limit to bring in Manchester City right-back Jo\u00e3o Cancelo, while sources confirm they also remain keen on Atletico Madrid forward Jo\u00e3o F\u00e9lix.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking earlier this summer, Felix said he would like to join Bar\u00e7a, who will move for a forward should Fati leave after also losing Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ansu Fati \u00a0 Ansu Fati is willing to leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes this week, with Brighton working on an ambitious loan deal for the Spain forward, sources have confirmed to ESPN.
