He was 55.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today,\u201d Hoonigan said in a statement on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKen was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The accident took place in Utah\u2019s Wasatch County on Monday when Block was riding on a steep slope and the snowmobile upended and landed on top of him, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said, as quoted by Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>The 55-year-old was riding with a group but was alone at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_31691\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-31691\" style=\"width: 1027px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-31691\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Screenshot-2023-01-03-at-9.48.49-AM.png\" alt=\"Ken Block\" width=\"1027\" height=\"683\"  \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-31691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ken Block<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident,\u201d they said in a statement, adding that he was riding in a group but was alone when the accident occurred. He is survived by his wife Lucy and three children.<\/p>\n<p>Block spent most of his time participating in a variety of winter sports including driving UTVs, snowmobiling and snowboarding when he wasn\u2019t on the road driving electric stunt cars from Audi or race cars from Porsche.<\/p>\n<p>The rally driver, who is also the co-founder of DC shoes, quickly became a prominent face in the world of rally. He developed the Hoonigan brand and also created the much-loved Gymkhana video series.<\/p>\n<p>Having begun his rallying career in 2005, Block was named Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship. He competed in the World Rally Championship and won several rallycross medals at the X Games.<\/p>\n<p>In the Gymkhana video series produced by the American, fans saw him driving on dangerous tracks and obstacle courses.
