A Gauteng school has been accused of racial discrimination after an eighth-grade student was allegedly forcibly ejected for reportedly wearing hair extensions, which the school claimed was against the new hair policy. The student, a 13-year-old girl, has dreadlocks, which are her natural hair. Her mother, who was present at the time, said that she tried to explain to the school officials that her daughter’s hair was natural, but they refused to listen.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the mother and daughter being manhandled by school officials. The video sparked outrage, with many people calling for the school to be held accountable for its actions. The Gauteng department of education has since launched an investigation into the matter. The department has also said that the school has been operating illegally.

The EFF has also condemned the incident, calling it “racist” and “unacceptable.” The party has demanded that the school be shut down and that the officials involved be held accountable. The incident at Crowthorne Christian Academy is just the latest in a string of cases of racial discrimination in South African schools. In recent months, there have been several reports of students being discriminated against for their hair, their skin color, and their language.

These incidents highlight the need for greater awareness of racism in South African schools. It is important for schools to create an environment where all students feel safe and respected, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or culture.
