Mbalula was speaking at the funeral of Fezile Dabi secretary general Thabo Mabasa in the Free State when he made the remarks.

Mbalula claimed that before the ruling party took over, South Africans were already suffering from loadshedding. Loadshedding is the deliberate shutdown of power supply to specific areas in South Africa due to a power shortage. However, the ANC changed that by bringing electricity to even the remotest villages.

The comments have received significant backlash, with many criticizing Mbalula for trying to deflect blame from the ANC’s failures. Many point out that the ANC has been in power for over 25 years and has had ample time to address the power crisis in the country but has failed to do so.

Loadshedding has become a prominent issue in South Africa, with the country currently experiencing Stage 2 loadshedding, meaning that the power supply is cut off for up to two hours at a time, with each area experiencing power cuts twice a day.

The ANC has been criticized for its mishandling of the power crisis, with many calling for the government to privatise the country’s power utility Eskom to help address the issue.

In conclusion, Mbalula’s comments have sparked outrage among many South Africans, who believe that the ANC is failing to address the country’s power crisis. While the party may have brought electricity to remote areas in the past, it is clear that more needs to be done to address the current power crisis in the country.

https://briefly.co.za/south-africa/166282-fikile-mbalula-sparks-outrage-praising-anc-bringing-electricity-sa-anc-shame/?fbclid=IwAR3sUTXwy0cRdaLGVeyouP55E84J6EwjPjVb-Ik_U7BtwWQcdR9mfMZNjaY

Content created and supplied by: News_Entertainment (via Opera
News )

    , . , .
