{"id":88884,"date":"2023-08-03T09:09:19","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T09:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/08\/03\/chiwanja-cha-ayao-members-cheer-musician-giddes-chalamanda\/"},"modified":"2023-08-03T09:09:19","modified_gmt":"2023-08-03T09:09:19","slug":"chiwanja-cha-ayao-members-cheer-musician-giddes-chalamanda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/08\/03\/chiwanja-cha-ayao-members-cheer-musician-giddes-chalamanda\/","title":{"rendered":"Chiwanja Cha Ayao members cheer musician Giddes Chalamanda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Members of the Chiwanja Cha aYao Cultural grouping on Wednesday cheered veteran musician Giddes Chalamanda at his home village in Chiradzulu where they donated assorted food items.<\/p>\n<p>The donation came barely months after the 93 year old music legend was discharged from Chiradzulu Hospital where he was admitted.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-420862 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Gide-gide-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1031\" height=\"561\"\/><br \/>Speaking in an interview with the press Chiwanja cha Ayao National Executive Committee (NEC) member Alex Chimwala said the grouping believes in assisting one another in times of need hence the donation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter hearing that our granny was admitted in hospital recently and knowing that Chalamanda has entertained us for several years, we thought it wise with the guidance from our Chairman to come here, cheer him and donate something to him,\u201d said Chimwala.<\/p>\n<p>He then urged politicians and other well-wishers to come forward and support the veteran musician.<\/p>\n<p>On his part Chalamanda, who had time to entertain the group with a song, hailed the members for the gesture.<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-420860 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Chiwanja-vs-Gides.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Che Meli\u2019 star said that in the absence of live performances, which he cannot do at the moment as he is recovering, he does not have any source of income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAm really short of words with what the Chiwanja Cha Ayao grouping has done to me and I thank God for every support i receive from people.
