Tinubu is already dealing with the development to reverse the coup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Buhari stated this in a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The former Nigerian leader said he has confidence in President Tinubu\u2019s ability to resolve the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Buhari assured the people that Tinubu would be able to reverse the situation and ensure the safety of Bazoum and his family.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, \u201cAs to be expected, I, like millions of other Nigerians, am shocked by the latest turn of events in Niger Republic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConcerns have been raised about the fate of democracy as a system of government in the country and in the wider sub-region, and equally so, about the safety of President Mohammed Bazoum and his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI and my family are as much concerned about these as is everyone else.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is heartening to note that the ECOWAS, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is already dealing Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in Abuja, over the recent military coup in Niger.<\/p>\n<p>Dele Alake, special adviser to Tinubu on special duties, communications and strategy, announced the development in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>TheCable reported how Amadou Abdramane, a colonel-major,\u00a0announced\u00a0the removal of President Mohamed Bazoum from office in a late-night address on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Abdramane dissolved the <span style=\"background-color: transparent;\">country\u2019s constitution, suspended all institutions and closed the borders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Buhari rejoices with \u2018trusted ally\u2019, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, at 60<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" 48);\">Senator Bamidele, Senate Leader and the lawmaker representing Ekiti Central constituency served as Commissioner in the Tinubu administration in Lagos State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Describing Bamidele who first served with him as a legislative aide in 1992 when he was the Senator representing Lagos West as a trusted ally and confidant, President Tinubu, in a release issued on Friday by the Director of Information at the State House, Abuja, Mr Abiodun Oladunjoye, praised him for his loyalty and dedication to progressive politics and years of promoting the welfare of the people as Students\u2019 His passion, energy and dedication has continued to propel him and will continue to serve him into a greater future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI join family, friends and well-wishers in wishing the Senate Leader many happy returns, good health and God\u2019s guidance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Terrorism\u2019: Court refuses bail application of chief who threatened to bring IPOB to Lagos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/d66f635919a1472284b10c78e62e02f4\"\/><\/p>\n<p>A Lagos high court at Tafawa Balewa Square has refused to grant bail to Frederick Nwajagu, the Eze of Ajao estate in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Nwajagu is standing trial on a nine-count charge bordering on an attempt to commit terrorism, financing terrorism, participating in terrorism and meeting to support a proscribed entity.<\/p>\n<p>Nwajagu was arrested by the police after a video where he made an \u201cinciting statement\u201d surfaced online.<\/p>\n<p>In the clip,\u00a0Nwajagu said Igbo indigenes in Lagos must recruit members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to defend their properties from looters.<\/p>\n<p>The Igbo chief pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him by the state government.<\/p>\n<p>On July 25, he applied for bail on medical grounds through E.C.
