{"id":84805,"date":"2023-07-18T17:25:23","date_gmt":"2023-07-18T17:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/07\/18\/bawumia-cuts-sod-for-100-bed-hospital-at-ejura\/"},"modified":"2023-07-18T17:25:23","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T17:25:23","slug":"bawumia-cuts-sod-for-100-bed-hospital-at-ejura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/07\/18\/bawumia-cuts-sod-for-100-bed-hospital-at-ejura\/","title":{"rendered":"Bawumia Cuts Sod For 100-Bed Hospital At Ejura"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has broken ground for construction works to begin on a 100-bed District hospital for the Ejura Sekyeredumase District in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital, being constructed as part of the Government\u2019s flagship Agenda 111 Projects programme, is expected to have state-of-the-art equipment including X -Rays, Medical Gases, Haematology Analyzer, Chemistry Analyzer, CT Scanner, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Mammography and a Microbiology Analyzer.<\/p>\n<p>It is also expected to have accommodation for some staff.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-407316\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG-20230718-WA0023-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The entire project is expected to be completed in 18 months for $16m.<\/p>\n<p>In brief remarks at the ceremony, held at Ejura on Tuesday, 18th July 2023, Dr Bawumia reiterated the Government\u2019s commitment to securing the improved welfare of all persons resident in Ghana, hence the decision, among others, to construct 111 hospitals of varied usage to ensure every district has a hospital and is within reach of a higher-level facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis (Agenda 111) is the biggest investment in hospital infrastructure in Ghana\u2019s history since Independence. We want to ensure that every district in Ghana has a hospital. We have six new regions, so we are also building six new regional hospitals, as well as upgrading the Efia Nkwanta hospital (Western Region). We will also construct two new Psychiatric hospitals, in Kumasi and Tamale,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-407317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IMG-20230718-WA0020-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Government, Dr Bawumia noted, has also undertaken several initiatives to increase access to, and improve delivery of health care, such as the provision of ambulances nationwide under the One Constituency One Ambulance programme; ongoing networking of hospitals to facilitate access to medical cases histories; introduction of the drone medical delivery system; and the E-Pharmacy regime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continually explore ways to improve our healthcare delivery approaches and systems\u201d he pledged adding, \u201cA healthy nation is a wealthy nation.
