{"id":80876,"date":"2023-07-03T22:22:02","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T22:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/07\/03\/asante-kotoko-board-management-dissolved\/"},"modified":"2023-07-03T22:22:02","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T22:22:02","slug":"asante-kotoko-board-management-dissolved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2023\/07\/03\/asante-kotoko-board-management-dissolved\/","title":{"rendered":"Asante Kotoko board, management dissolved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/117396147_1750475468423836_4194040779841939148_n-1-696x392.jpg\"   alt=\"Nana Yaw Amponsah with Dr Kwame Kyei\" title=\"Nana Yaw Amponsah with Dr Kwame Kyei\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nana Yaw Amponsah with Dr Kwame Kyei<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II has ordered the dissolution of both the board and management of Asante Kotoko.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the Chief of Staff at Manhyia, Mr Kofi Badu held a meeting with the Board of Directors today and officially informed them their three-year mandate will not be renewed.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-20.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2267775\"  \/><\/figure>\n<p>The 12-member board, led by Dr Kwame Kyei, was established in 2020 and appointed Nana Yaw Amponsah as the head of the management team in August of that year.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between the two entities initially yielded success, with the club securing the Ghana Premier League title in their second season having ended the first season trophyless and failed to impress in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Kotoko, who were the defending champions, ended the 2022\/23 Ghana football season trophyless again.<\/p>\n<p>However, it appears that disagreements have emerged between the management and the board. <\/p>\n<p>In June, Nana Yaw Amponsah addressed the issues within the club\u2019s leadership. He stated, \u201cPersonally, I don\u2019t have any issue with Dr Kwame Kyei as I sit.
