Manchester City\u2019s Champions League victory is a \u201cdream come true\u201d, said match-winner Rodri after his side sealed the Treble in Istanbul.<\/p>\n

City\u00a0beat Inter Milan 1-0\u00a0to win a first European title, adding to the Premier League and FA Cup trophies they had already clinched this season.<\/p>\n

Rodri\u2019s 68th-minute strike was just his second Champions League goal.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s emotional. A dream come true. All these guys around here waited I don\u2019t know how many years,\u201d he told BT Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey deserve it, we deserve it. The last years we were so close. I just want to thank everyone. It wasn\u2019t easy. What a team we faced, the way they defend and counter-attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe gave everything. Finals are like this. You can\u2019t expect to play as well as always. Emotions and nerves are there. We competed like animals. It\u2019s a dream. This moment will never happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manchester City were appearing in their second Champions League final in three seasons, having lost to Chelsea in 2021.<\/p>\n

They become just the second English men\u2019s team to win the Treble, following in the footsteps of city rivals Manchester United who achieved the feat in 1999.<\/p>\n

Kyle Walker came on as a substitute late in the second half<\/em><\/p>\n

Guardiola\u2019s biggest decision before the match was to leave England defender Kyle Walker out of the starting XI.<\/p>\n

Walker had started City\u2019s past seven matches, including the FA Cup final victory over Manchester United and both legs of the Champions League semi-final win over Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always going to be disappointed when I\u2019m not playing but I\u2019m 33. My example [is important for] the younger lads,\u201d Walker told BT Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made a speech before they went out. I said \u2018my dream is in your hands, no pressure\u2019. This club means so much to me. To experience what I\u2019ve experienced, I\u2019m forever in debt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m over the moon. I\u2019m rarely speechless. My dream has come true, to achieve this with this club. To achieve a Treble is unbelievable.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mum and dad are in the stands. From where I come from in Sheffield it\u2019s not easy. I remember when my mum didn\u2019t have a pound for the ice cream van. To have this with them, I\u2019m so thankful.\u201d<\/p>\n

England international Jack Grealish, who joined City from Aston Villa\u00a0for a British record \u00a3100m\u00a0in 2021, was in tears at full-time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what you work your whole life for. I\u2019m so happy. I was awful [in the final] but I don\u2019t care. To win the Treble with this group of players is so special,\u201d Grealish told BT Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone who knows me knows how much I love football and this is what I have worked for my whole life. Seeing my family in the crowd makes me so emotional.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just said to the manager \u2018I want to thank you\u2019. He has put so much faith in me. He is a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n
