He claimed that, \u201cthis was the government\u2019s attempt to silence ASUU, but vowed that it would fail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He believed that, \u201cthe two newly registered university academic unions were unlawful and, as such, should not be given any recognition by anyone under any circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Osodeke, who claimed ASUU was unaware of the development, told Vanguard that, \u201cthe two unions were illegal and had no business operating in the country\u2019s university system in response to the minister\u2019s Tuesday presentation of certificates to the unions allowing them to operate under the country\u2019s Trade Dispute Act and the Trade Union Act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe questioned why, in contrast to when academic unions were formed a few years ago, the federal government made the handing of certificates to newly registered unions a public event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, we don\u2019t know if operating certificates exist or are presented to criminal organisations, either.
